DPMU

Maharashtra is one of the largest states in country with 35 districts and population over 11 crores (estimated 2009). Therefore it is difficult to monitor all the activities of NRHM from state level. Considering this problem, it has been decided to strengthen the Divisional Program Management Units of the state. As per this decision, program review is taken by Divisional Heads on 12th of every month. Divisional PMU prepares the reports and state level review and feedback meeting is held on 15th of every month. These meetings are chaired by Additional Chief Secretary (PH & FW) and Director of Health Services. Meetings are attended by Divisional Deputy Directors and state level Program Officers. Considering this, it has been decided to strengthen the Divisional PMU in the state. There are 8 Divisional HQs in the state headed by Deputy Director of Health Services.

Divisional Monitoring Structure for NRHM was approved in 2010-11. It is kept as it is. In addition, one post of Block Finance and Accounts Officer is added to the division for compilation and monitoring of district financial issues. This officer will also control all the grants given to other agencies except District Societies.
