Infrastructure Development Wing is established for upgradation of existing health institutes and new construction of various health institutes as per norms established by Central Government, so that better health services can be provided to people of various categories over a periphery of Maharashtra.
Infrastructure Development Wing is established via Government resolution No. NRHM-1007 Dt. 18th May, 2007. For establishment of IDW at District level a committee is established at each District level consisting of Chief Executive Officer, (Zilla Parishad) Dy. Director of Health Services, Executive Engineer of PWD etc.
A) At District Level
- Dy. Engineer – One (On Contract Basis)
- Jr. Engineer – One Engineer for every 4 Blocks.
- Accountant Cum Data Entry Operator Cum Stenographer – One (To help Dy. Engineer)
B) Regional Level
For effective supervision and control over works undertaken by IDW a post of Executive Engineer (On Contract Basis) is created for each Health Circle.
A post of regular Superintending Engineer is created for effective control, supervision and co-ordination with various Government Organizations to insure quality work within stipulated time period. A Superintending Engineer is equipped with one contractual Executive Engineer along with two Jr. Engineers and two Data Entry Operators.
EXECUTION OF WORKS
Works of repairs and new construction of Sub Centres and Primary Health Centres under NRHM Funds are executed by Infrastructure Development Wing established at district level abiding Zilla Parishad / Governments procedure for execution of works.
Works of District / Sub District / Rural Hospitals and Nursing Training Centres etc. are executed by State PWD as a Deposit Works.
